Best Practices

  • Sabre Passwords expire every 90 days without exception and must be reset before they expire. Set a calendar reminder to help you remember to update your password.
  • Please try to always include your last name on cruise bookings. Often when a confirmation or change or notice comes into one of the general mailbox the only information we have is a client’s last name (sometimes a full name) and the agents first name.

Try to somewhere in the booking include your contact details so we are able to pass the information on quicker to you.

ClientBase

ClientBase is the travel industry’s first Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool designed specifically for travel consultants. ClientBase is an easy-to-use program that gives you instant access to key customer data.

In 2008, Trams released ClientBase Online. This is an online, stand-alone version of ClientBase. There is no software to install, and never before has it been easier to stay “connected” with your customers. The ClientBase Online tool, now available via Sabre 360 or web browser, offers robust access to your client database from any Internet-connected computer running Windows 10 or higher. ClientBase Online gives you the competitive edge necessary for success in today’s changing retail travel environment.

Fraud Prevention & Cyber Security

Fraud prevention training

Important Information:

For travel advisors, the most important points are to prove that they validated the cardholder’s identity, that the cardholder authorized the transaction, and that the cardholder agreed to the terms and conditions before finalizing the transaction. All advisors should follow and properly document these steps in case a chargeback ever arises. In addition, many ticketing-related chargebacks can be defeated if you can provide proof that the customer was a passenger on the flight in question.

Travel aadvisors may not have this information, but they may be able to work with the airline to find out if they have any evidence showing that a passenger on board the flight presented ID matching the name of the cardholder. If you can provide that evidence, most issuing banks will reverse the chargeback.

There is always some subjective interpretation involved in the issuing bank's decision-making. Compelling evidence isn’t always enough, and it can be difficult to prove that a customer’s identity was verified prior to authorizing a transaction or that the cardholder used the purchased ticket. Here are some other examples of potential evidence for air travel disputes:

  • Emails between the agency and the customer
  • Photographs, emails, or social media showing a relationship between the cardholder and the -passenger
  • Copies of the cardholder’s signature
  • Copies of the cardholder’s passport, driver’s license, or other identification
  • Photographs or social media showing that the cardholder was on board the flight or at its destination -Receipts for related or previous transactions

If you can compile multiple elements of this list into the evidence you submit, you stand a better chance of beating the chargeback.

FOP wallet

The Reservation’s (PNR) form of payment Wallet field (*FOP) will replace the legacy 5- form of payment remarks field.

For users still using the 5- form of payment remarks, they are required to adopt the Form of Payment Wallet (*FOP) functionality prior to the scheduled change date starting in Mid-September. Exact change over dates per PCC will be communicated in the upcoming months.

Until then, the 5- legacy format can still be used to add credit cards, however, you will need to modify or delete the cards in the wallet. Customers should migrate to Form of Payment Wallet (*FOP) now, so they have sufficient time for testing agency operations, processes, and applications.

What’s is the Form of Payment Wallet?

The Form of Payment Wallet (*FOP) field is uniquely designed for storing form of payment data. It is built on new technologies and provides advanced functional opportunities not available in the legacy 5- form of payment remarks field, such as:

Ability to store multiple forms of payment and optionally associate by passenger, Use Type, and Trip Type to easily identify and integrate into workflows.

Additional data elements can optionally be stored in the Wallet, such as Cardholder Name, Corporate ID, and payment card approval codes.

Content validation at the time of entry reduces the risk and burden of manual intervention later in the workflow process.

How soon can my agency use the wallet field?

*FOP is currently available for agency activation early; however, Sabre will automatically turn it on latest September 30th 2024.

PCCs used for our various branches will be turned on starting mid-September. The exact dates will be communicated in the upcoming months. To confirm you are on a branch PCC review the listing below:

  • Atlanta: 9S2F
  • Orange County: K1B0
  • New York: P6IA
  • Toronto: Z7A0
  • Bermuda: X1Y9
  • La Jolla: E8K0
  • Palm Desert: R284
  • Palos Verdes: Y6H9

Agencies should review and act on the prerequisites outlined in the Quick Reference Guides listed below.

Additionally, agencies should consider migrating to the Wallet, in preparation for anonymization of payment card data in a remarks field, planned 1H 2024.  Leveraging the wallet provides an ideal solution as it enables the storing and association of forms of payment to a specific passenger, use type, and trip type.

How do I activate the Wallet?

Wait until your scheduled change over date starting in mid-September or if you would like early access, please send a request to Travel Edge’s GDS Support at gds.support@trip-arc.com

Are there any actions you can take prior to activating the Wallet?

YES! To ensure a smooth transition, you can start making the necessary preparations and create a plan to migrate to the Wallet now, so you have sufficient time for testing agency operations, processes, and applications.

Once activated, are Passenger Association features also available to leverage?

Yes! As the wallet (*FOP) is a feature of Passenger Association both capabilities are activated when the wallet is activated.

Once activated, you can manually associate the remarks, phone field, tickets, accounting lines and the form of payment, to a specific passenger in the PNR. Association automatically occurs when moving from a Sabre Profile.

What Sabre products interface with Form of Payment Wallet?

  • Utilizes current ticketing and EMD fulfillment logic, if more than one form of payment exists in the Form of Payment Wallet (*FOP) field.
  • Optional Edit can be activated to force a form of payment referencing in fulfillment format if multiple forms of payment exist in the Form of Payment Wallet (*FOP) field.
  • Form of payment referencing eliminates the need for payment card viewership for most agents, referencing is available to store a PQ, book Content Services for Lodging (CSL), and fulfillment of Air tickets and EMD.
  • Interfaces with Profiles; form of payment data and associations are copied from the Profile into the Reservation.
  • Provides storage capabilities for manual payment card and auto-approval codes.
  • Works in conjunction with Sabre Virtual Payments.
  • Current EPR keyword rules are applied to provide authorized users with viewership of payment card data. -Passenger Association capabilities, including *FOP, are supported through Sabre’s Web Services. Customers currently using any screen scraping applications that rely on standard response formats, should review their internal processes and leverage Sabre’s Web Services as they define their future development plans.
