Since 1977, the Association of Canadian Travel Agencies (ACTA) has represented the retail travel sector in Canada. A national member-based trade association, they have over 12000 Travel Agent members and focus on advocacy work, providing education and elevating industry standards, promotion of the value the industry has for the public, and facilitating connections between members, industry contacts, and programs. ASTA’s history of travel industry advocacy traces back to its founding in 1931 when it launched with the mission to facilitate the business of selling travel through effective representation, shared knowledge and the enhancement of professionalism.
